In August 2020, The Arts Club Theatre Company commissioned a number of writers whose work they had produced, to create a five minute piece that would describe the impact of lockdown on our creative process. The piece could be anything - a poem, a play, a conversation, a song - to be presented in an online festival called "Dialled Up". I created a video called "Writing in Lockdown" starring my cat Frankie as the dramaturg and myself as the writer.

The Dissociates takes a darkly comic look at life and death, memory and healing. It is the story of Alex, a 50ish lesbian who finds herself dealing with the aftermath of a recent crisis. Working to repair her garden she tries to assess and reassess, often with broad strokes of gallows humour, how she got where she is. Will the life that Alex remembers prove to be her salvation?
